Friday 5:00pm – Monday 7:00am
24‑hour call coverage throughout the weekend


Position Overview
This is a weekend cardiac surgery call role supporting urgent and emergent cases. Providers will collaborate closely with the cardiac surgeon and ICU teams, offering advanced practice support with a focus on efficiency, patient safety, and high‑acuity management.

Work Details

Support Staff: APP team in place
Coverage Needed: 3 weekends per month
Average Callback: ~4 hours per day (includes rounding)
Patient Population: Adults (18+)
Hospital Size: 163 beds
EMR: Epic
Practice Setting: Acute care hospital
Special Procedure: Vein harvesting
Department Description:

Mix of urgent cardiac surgery cases
Patients may go directly from cath lab to surgery
Stable patients may wait until Monday
Typical flow from ICU to discharge home
Cardiac surgeon available for backup after consult
