Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant Needed in Savannah, GA
Start Date: As soon as credentialed
Credentialing timeframe: ~90 days
Contract Length: Ongoing contract (Locum Tenens – 1099)

Schedule

Day shifts with call responsibilities
12‑hour shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Call coverage required
Weekend coverage: 1 weekend per month
Non-restrictive call with 30‑minute recall
Not required to remain on campus while on call


Practice Details

Hospital-based cardiothoracic surgery service
Coverage includes cardiovascular and thoracic cases
Low volume of emergent thoracic cases
EMR: Epic
Average volume: ~8 patients/day
APP-first model for consults:

Emergency Department
CVICU
Inpatient consults




Clinical Scope


Cardiothoracic surgery APP coverage


Responsibilities include:

CVICU rounding
Call coverage
Surgical consults
ED and inpatient evaluations



Typical cases include:

Cardiovascular surgery
Thoracic surgery



Required skills:

Vein harvesting




Requirements

Physician Assistant – Cardiothoracic Surgery
Active Georgia PA license required
Sponsoring supervising physician must be listed on PA license
Vein harvesting experience required
Able to take call with 30‑minute recall

Name clear required prior to submission
NPI required
Clean credentialing file strongly preferred

Credentialing

Full hospital credentialing required
Credentialing timeframe minimum ~90 days
Most candidates onboarded without interview
Provider must be fully cleared prior to start
