Cardiothoracic Surgery PA Needed in Pleasanton, CA

Job description

Assignment Details:

Start: April/May
Duration: ~30 weeks (6-month minimum commitment; longer preferred)
Schedule: Full-time, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Call Requirements:

ICU night call: 1 night per week
Weekend call: 1 weekend per month
Clinic: 2 half-days per week

Position Overview:
This is a small community hospital offering a unique, full-continuum care model where providers manage patients from pre-op through post-op. The role includes coverage across ICU, OR, floor, and clinic settings, with flexibility for candidates interested in OR-only or ICU rounding-only.

Key Responsibilities:

First and second assist in the OR (including EVH/RAH if applicable)
Perform patient evaluations, histories, and physical exams
Manage admissions, discharges, and care coordination
Order and interpret diagnostic studies
Prescribe and administer medications per protocol
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support patient education

Preferred Experience:

Vein and/or artery harvesting (please include EVH/RAH competency and average harvest time with submission)

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited PA program (NP/RNFA also considered)
Active California license
BLS certification
DEA required

Credentialing:

Temporary privileges available (~30 days)
Full credentialing: 3–4 months
