CT Surgery Physician Assistant Needed in Pleasanton, CA
Start: April 2026
Position Overview
Small community hospital seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgery PA (NP/RNFA also considered) with OR experience to support ICU, OR, and clinic coverage. This role offers a unique care model where providers manage patients from start to finish.

Preferences
Experience with vein and artery harvesting preferred
Submission should include:
Whether the candidate can perform harvesting
EVH and/or RAH competency
Average vein harvest time

Schedule & Commitment
Full-time: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
6-month commitment minimum (longer preferred)
Call requirements:
ICU night call: 1 night/week
Weekend call: 1 weekend/month
Clinic: 2 half days per week
Open to candidates interested in OR-only or ICU rounding-only

Clinical Responsibilities
Provide care across ICU, OR, floor, and clinic settings
First and second assist in the OR (including EVH/RAH if applicable)
Perform patient evaluations, histories, and physical exams
Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies
Assist in surgical procedures under physician supervision
Manage admissions, discharges, and care coordination
Prescribe and administer medications per protocol
Facilitate communication with patients, families, and care teams
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient education

Credentials & Requirements
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
BLS certification
DEA registration

Credentialing Timeline
Temporary privileges available (~30 days)
Full credentialing: 3–4 months
