About the clinician's workday

The cardiothoracic surgeon will provide comprehensive surgical coverage managing complex cardiac procedures including CABG both on and off pump, valve surgeries, TAVR procedures, ECMO management, and emergency interventions for Type A aortic dissections. The clinician will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams including ICU staff, cardiology, interventional cardiology, anesthesia providers, advanced practice providers, perfusionists, and OR personnel to ensure coordinated patient care. The position requires 24-hour call availability with continuous on-site presence for emergency cases while maintaining board certification in cardiothoracic surgery throughout the assignment period. Daily responsibilities include conducting patient rounds, managing postoperative complications, performing chest explorations for bleeding management, and providing emergency surgical interventions as required by the facility's cardiothoracic surgery service line.
