NP/PA – Trauma & Acute Care Surgery – Locum Tenens – Atlantic City, NJ

A large regional health system in Atlantic City, NJ is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP with RNFA) or Physician Assistant (PA) for Trauma and Acute Care Surgery coverage on a locum tenens basis.

Coverage is needed ASAP through October 2026. The provider will work 12-hour shifts (7 AM–7 PM or 7 PM–7 AM) at a Level II Trauma Center. Responsibilities include trauma alerts and surgical consultations, inpatient admitting and rounding, OR support, ER admissions, and facilitating discharges. Procedures include ventilation management, chest tube, central line, arterial line, PICC line, non-invasive vent management (BiPAP/CPAP), and minor laceration suturing. No formal call required. EMR: Cerner.

Requirements: Active New Jersey State License required (cannot wait for licensing). BLS, ACLS, and ATLS or ATCN certifications required. RNFA required for NPs. Minimum 1+ year experience in Trauma and Acute Care Surgery. Supervising physician present in-house 24/7; APP will not work autonomously. Rate cap: $180–200/hr. Travel reimbursement: mileage only (provider must be local to the Atlantic City, NJ area).
