PA – Pediatric Cardiac ICU (CICU) – Locum Tenens – Oklahoma City, OK

Job description

A well-established children's hospital in Oklahoma City, OK is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) or Pediatric Acute Care APRN for locum tenens coverage of their 25-bed Pediatric Cardiac ICU (CICU).

Hospital Overview:
- Hospital bed size: 500 adult beds, 126 ICU beds
- Trauma Level: Level 1 Trauma Center, Level IV NICU
- Coverage needed immediately through fall/winter 2026
- Minimum availability: 7–10 shifts per month

Shift Details:
Overnight coverage only (check-out at 5:00 PM, ending at 6:30 AM). The APP will provide first call coverage for 12–13 CICU patients. The Cardiac ICU primarily cares for post-operative patients including neonatal surgeries, as well as VAD and potentially heart transplant patients. In-house cardiac ICU physician coverage is provided overnight.

Requirements:
- PA or Pediatric Acute Care APRN credential required
- Pediatric cardiac ICU experience required
- EPIC EMR proficiency
- Credentialing timeframe: approximately 90 days
- No call beyond assigned shift

The APP will be expected to perform comprehensive history and physical assessments, order and interpret diagnostic studies, develop and implement individualized care plans, and maintain accurate documentation in EPIC.
