Job description
Shift Type: Shared/Clinic and Inpatient
Est. Hours: 1.0 FTE (36 face-to-face patient visits per week, plus inpatient rounding and infusion supervision)
JOB SUMMARY
A full-time clinical Hematologist/Oncologist is needed to provide comprehensive patient care, including new patient referrals, active treatment, and follow-up care. The provider will coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care for patients, families, and staff.
The provider will split time between two cancer centers, covering both clinic and inpatient responsibilities, including supervision of infusion services. Weekend and holiday coverage is call-only.
RESPONSIBILITIES
PATIENT CARE
Full-spectrum hematology and oncology patient care
Management of new patient referrals, ongoing treatment, and follow-up
Inpatient rounding in addition to clinic responsibilities
Infusion supervision
MULTIDISCIPLINARY COLLABORATION
Coordinate care with Radiation Oncology, Neuro-Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Gynecologic Oncology, Breast, Thoracic, and Colorectal surgery
Partner with Advanced Practice Providers, care management, social work, nurse navigation, and nurse triage
Collaborate with research and clinical trials, laboratory, pharmacy, genetics, and financial counseling teams
Participate in program marketing to enhance outreach and patient engagement
NETWORK & REFERRAL SUPPORT
Access to a comprehensive cancer network serving West Michigan and Lake Michigan shoreline
Strong primary care referral network for patient support
Affiliation with academic institutions for access to cutting-edge research
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Fellowship-trained Hematology/Oncology (required)
Board Certified or Board Eligible (must be certified within 2 years of eligibility) (required)
Michigan state license or willingness to obtain (required)
Clean malpractice (highly preferred/pref)
Most recent NPDB Self-Query Report (within 30–60 days) (required)
DEA registration (or willingness to obtain) (required)
BLS and ACLS (or willingness to obtain) (required)
Open to H1B visa candidates; J1 candidates not eligible
New graduates eligible if board-certified within 2 years
SCHEDULE & SHIFT DETAILS
Majority clinic time (36 face-to-face visits/week)
Inpatient rounding on top of clinic duties
Infusion supervision expected
Weekend and holiday coverage: call-only
Split coverage between two cancer centers
