Description

We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist for a locum tenens opportunity in South Florida. This is a high-acuity role within a busy pediatric cardiac program, offering a structured daytime schedule with the opportunity to expand into call responsibilities over time. Ideal candidates are confident managing complex pediatric cardiac cases and thrive in a collaborative care team model.


About the Facility

Hospital is a leading freestanding children’s hospital located in Hollywood. The facility features a robust pediatric cardiac program and serves as a major healthcare hub in Broward County.

• Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center
• 298 beds and 11 operating rooms
• Approximately 800 cases per month
• Around 200 open heart cases annually, plus transplants and cath procedures
• EMR Epic
• Care team model with physician and CRNA collaboration
• Cross-credentialing across multiple Memorial healthcare sites

Located between Fort Lauderdale and Miami, the area offers access to beaches, entertainment, and major attractions such as Walt Disney World.

Compensation:

Pay Rate: $500 - $525/Hr.

Travel expenses reimbursed, including:
• Mileage

Malpractice covered


Job Responsibilities:

• Provide anesthesia care for pediatric cardiac and non-cardiac cases
• Manage cases including open heart surgeries, cath lab procedures, and general pediatric surgeries
• Perform and manage:
• Central lines
• Arterial lines
• Vasoactive infusions
• Participate in a care team model with both supervision and solo cases
• Deliver high-quality care in medically directed and independent settings
• Transition to on-call responsibilities once oriented and approved


Qualifications:

• Board Certified in Anesthesiology required
• Active Florida medical license required
• Pediatric cardiac anesthesia training required
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Must not have worked at this site or affiliated sites within the past 24 months
• Must be an out-of-state candidate


Working Hours:

• Monday through Friday
• 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM or 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Optional weekend shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• No call initially, with call expected after onboarding and site approval
• Flexible scheduling: Full-time, part-time, or PRN

• Proficiency with invasive line placement and hemodynamic monitoring
• Ability to manage high-acuity pediatric patients
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
