Part Time Hematology/Oncology Physician - Stunning Coastal Location

Job description

We are seeking a Hematology/Oncology Physician for a flexible locum tenens opportunity at a well-established, community-focused oncology clinic in beautiful coastal Washington. This is a great outpatient-only role with strong multidisciplinary support and no call responsibilities.

Assignment Details:

Start Date: May 2026
Duration: Through August 2026
Schedule: 2–3 days per week
Shift: 7:45 AM – 4:45 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch)
Call: None

Practice Setting:

Outpatient oncology clinic (no hospital rounding)

Clinical Details:

Patient Volume: 13–16 patients per day

Scope of Practice:

General Hematology/Oncology (approx. 70% Oncology / 30% Hematology)
Benign Hematology required
Malignant Hematology not required (must be comfortable coordinating with specialty centers)
Chemotherapy administered outpatient only
Participation in tumor boards (twice monthly) and quarterly cancer meetings

Support & Resources:

Highly experienced infusion team (majority OCN-certified nurses)
12 infusion chairs + 2 beds (7-day infusion services)
Dedicated MA or LPN + nurse coordinator per provider
Nurse coordinators manage patient communication, education, and symptom management
Onsite pharmacy team and developing specialty pharmacy
Integrated support services:
Social workers
Patient navigation
Dietitian
Palliative care & hospice services
Active research program with dedicated screening nurses


Requirements:

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology
Experience in benign hematology required
Active Washington license preferred (or ability to obtain)
