Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist (Locums) – Florida Residents Only


Description

We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist for a locum tenens opportunity in South Florida. This position is open to Florida-licensed providers who reside outside restricted local counties and meet specific geographic eligibility requirements. The role offers a structured daytime schedule with the opportunity to transition into call responsibilities after onboarding.

This is a high-acuity position within a busy pediatric cardiac program, ideal for clinicians comfortable managing complex cardiac and general pediatric cases in a collaborative care team environment.


About the Facility

Hospital is a leading freestanding children’s hospital located in Hollywood. The facility is a major pediatric hub in Broward County with a strong cardiac program and high surgical volume.

• Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center
• 298 beds and 11 operating rooms
• Approximately 800 cases per month
• Around 200 open heart cases annually, plus transplants and cath procedures
• EMR Epic
• Care team model with physician and CRNA collaboration
• Cross-credentialing across multiple Memorial facilities

The location offers access to beaches, entertainment, and major attractions such as Walt Disney World.


Compensation:

• Pay Rate: $400-$425/Hr.
• Travel expenses reimbursed, including:
• Mileage
• Rental car
• Hotel
• Flight
• Malpractice covered


Job Responsibilities:

• Provide anesthesia care for pediatric cardiac and non-cardiac cases
• Manage cases including open heart surgeries, cath lab procedures, and general pediatric cases
• Perform and manage:
• Central lines
• Arterial lines
• Vasoactive infusions
• Work within a care team model, including both supervision and independent cases
• Deliver care in both medically directed and solo settings
• Transition to call responsibilities after orientation and site approval


Qualifications:

• Board Certified in Anesthesiology required
• Active Florida medical license required
• Pediatric cardiac anesthesia training required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Must not have worked at this site or affiliated sites within the past 24 months
• Must not have worked for affiliated sites within the past 12 months if living within 75 miles
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the site if new
• Must not reside in Broward, Palm Beach, or Miami-Dade counties:

Working Hours:

• Monday through Friday
• 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM or 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Optional weekend shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• No call initially
• Call expected after onboarding and site approval
