Night Cardiac Surgery APP need in Tennessee

Job description

Overview:
Seeking an experienced APP (PA or ACNP) for a night shift role supporting a high-acuity Cardiac Surgery service. This is an autonomous, hospital-based position providing overnight coverage for post-operative cardiac patients across the CVICU, step-down, and telemetry units.

Schedule:

Night shifts (on-site)
1–2 week orientation (mix of days/nights)

Patient Population:

Adult post-op cardiac surgery patients (CABG, valve, aortic cases, etc.)
Occasional overnight pre-op/emergent cardiac surgery admissions

Key Responsibilities:

Manage admissions, overnight rounding, and ongoing patient care
Monitor and adjust hemodynamics, vents, drips, and anticoagulation
Order and interpret labs, imaging, and EKGs
Respond to codes and rapid responses
Manage complications (bleeding, arrhythmias, stroke, sepsis, etc.)
Perform procedures (lines, chest tubes, thoracentesis, pacing wires, etc. – per privileging)
Coordinate care and provide handoffs to day teams

Requirements:

3+ years CT surgery or critical care experience preferred
Active PA or ACNP certification
BLS & ACLS required
Must be eligible for full privileging
