Orthopedic Surgeon – Sports Medicine | Illinois

Job description

Sports Medicine fellowship trained Ortho Surgeon at Level II Trauma Center located 45 minutes outside of downtown Chicago.

Anticipated Start date: July/Asap
Length of Assignment: 6 months

Coverage needed: 2 - 8 hour days in clinic, 2 days in OR. Clinic days are 8-5p (with one hour lunch); OR days start at 730a. OR right now is Mondays and Fridays, but they can be flexible for the right candidate on when OR/clinic days fall within the week. Call required.

Case mix / typical procedures: ACL/MCL/PCL, lots of knee and ligament, meniscus. Hip arthroscopy case experience a plus. Traditional Sports Medicine fellowship trained typical book of business. Bread and Butter SM.
Expected volume: 25-30 patients/day in clinic (current average); surgeries depending case mix (8-10/week
EMR system: Epic
Number of other surgeons/providers on staff? 6 Orthopedic Surgeons. Total staff of 11 for physician providers.
APP support (PA/NP): Typically seeing post ops. APPs are the First Assists in the OR. APPs take calls from home and share the calls from ER.

Credentialing timeframe? 3 months for temporary privileging.
Licensure: IL or IMLC required. Willing to take IMLC licensure candidates
