Aya Locums is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for a locum assignment at a hospital in Southern California.

Assignment Details
• Start Date: June 2026
• Contract Length: Ongoing need; full-time preferred, PRN considered
• Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call
• Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts per week
• Shift Details: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (OR and rounding)
• Call Requirements: Night call 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Work Details
• Patient Population: Adults
• Responsibilities: First assist in the OR alongside attending surgeon; inpatient rounding and management of cardiothoracic patients; pre- and post-operative care
• Department Description: Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery service including CABG, transplants, VADs, and thoracic cases
• Required Skills: Chest tube removal, pacing wire removal, CXR interpretation, and vein harvesting
• Support Model: Each shift includes a Cardiac Attending, CV Surgical APP (procedures), and Step-Down APP for pre/post-op care
• EMR: Epic

Practice Setting
• Hospital

Requirements
• Board Certification: Required
• License: Active California license required
• Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS
• Experience: 1–2 years of experience required
