A hospital-based cardiology program in Ronceverte, WV is seeking a Board-Certified Cardiologist for a 6-month locum tenens assignment starting June 2026. This opportunity offers a balanced mix of clinic, consults, and testing responsibilities in a supportive environment.

Assignment Details

Start Date: June 1, 2026
Contract Length: 6 months
Setting: Hospital-based (122-bed facility)
Coverage Need:
Full-time coverage preferred
Will also consider 2–3 weeks per month

Schedule

Clinic Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Call: 24/7 call coverage
4–5 consults per day
1–2 after-hours calls per day

Practice Setting
General Cardiology department
EMR: Cerner
Patient Population: Primarily age 50+

Clinical Responsibilities
Clinic Volume: 20–25 patients per full day
Split Schedule Option:
Morning: 4–6 cardiac tests
Afternoon: 12–15 clinic patients
Perform and interpret cardiac diagnostic studies

Support Staff
Medical Assistants
1 Registered Nurse

Required Skills & Procedures

Candidates must be certified and experienced in:

Nuclear medicine stress tests
Exercise stress tests
EKG interpretation
Echocardiography (Echo)
Transesophageal Echo (TEE)
Requirements
Board Certification: Required
License: West Virginia license or IMLC (temporary WV license accepted)
DEA: Required
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, TEE
Credentialing
Timeframe: 30–45 days
Willing to License: Yes (IMLC or WV temporary license accepted)
