Facility:
This critical access hospital serves as the primary healthcare facility for the rural Valdez community and surrounding areas. The facility provides comprehensive care with broad scope services while maintaining transfer capabilities for higher acuity cases that require specialized care not available locally.

Opportunity:
Physician - Emergency Medicine

Job Details:
• Provide comprehensive emergency medicine services at a Level 4 trauma facility
• Work 10-hour shifts from 8a-6p with overnight beeper call responsibilities
• Handle approximately 4 patient encounters per shift
• Coverage needed July 16th-August 10th, August 19-28th, with probable October shifts
• Approximately 4 ten-hour shifts per week with guaranteed 10 hours per day
• Must be willing to provide ER, outpatient/primary care, and OB/C-sections in emergency situations
• Board Certified Family Practice preferred with rural health experience
• Rural health experience in ED, Hospitalist, and OB highly valued
• Active Alaska license or IMLC required
• DEA registration required
• Required certifications: ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS
• Newborn deliveries received in ED (no dedicated L&D department)
• Hospital-provided apartment lodging available during assignment
• 90-day credentialing timeframe
• Travel via Anchorage with regional flight or ground shuttle to Valdez

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
