Hybrid Social Worker for our Bronx Location (Office - Based and Remote)

Job description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated social worker to join our team. As a social worker, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals and communities providing support and resources to those in need.

Duties:
- Conduct patient assessments to evaluate their mental, emotional, and social needs
- Assess family needs and facilitate appropriate linkages for families to community based services
- Provide individual therapy sessions to address specific mental health concerns and work within a crisis driven environment with a knowledge base of substance abuse and addiction, domestic violence, child maltreatment, trauma, and mental health conditions
- Lead group therapy sessions to facilitate peer support and skill-building
- Administer psychotherapy techniques to help patients manage and overcome mental health challenges
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and attend ongoing professional development by the individual agency program, and the New York City Department of Homeless Services – Division of Family Services
- Provide counseling services to children and families, including child family counseling and be available to families seeking assistance at least five days a week, eight hours a day
- Assist families with specific stressors associated with living in shelter
- Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed which consist of weekend or evening hours
- Utilize Christian counseling principles, if applicable

Qualifications:

Master in Social Work or equivalent
Current licensure ‐ LMSW or LMHC Strongly Preferred
Knowledge of child and adolescent development; emotional/behavioral health; mental health; parent‐child relationships family dynamics; and diagnostic classification
Strong expertise in strengths‐based, solution‐focused, and family‐centered practice
Knowledge of guidelines, policies and regulations relating to child welfare, safety, permanency and well‐being
Ability to work independently and as part
