Harbor of Hope LLC is a licensed Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health treatment facility located in Portland, Oregon. We are an OHA-certified ASAM Level 2.5 program contracted with Trillium Community Health Plan providing peer support, residential, and outpatient SUD and mental health treatment services to the Portland community.
We are seeking a part-time Medical Director on a 1099 independent contractor basis to provide medical oversight and leadership across both our SUD and mental health programs.
Responsibilities:
Provide medical oversight and supervision of clinical SUD and mental health treatment protocols
Review and co-sign treatment plans as required by OHA regulations
Serve as on-call medical resource for clinical staff — primarily by phone
Participate in regular on-site visits to review clinical operations
Assist with development and implementation of medical policies and procedures
Support staff training on medical aspects of SUD and mental health treatment
Oversee medication management protocols for both SUD and co-occurring mental health conditions
Collaborate with OHA and Trillium Community Health Plan on medical compliance
Assist with clinical quality improvement and program development
Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings as needed
Schedule:
8 hours per week — flexible scheduling
Mix of remote phone/video consultation and on-site presence
On-site visits scheduled in advance based on program needs
On-call availability by phone for urgent clinical questions
Requirements:
MD or DO with active unrestricted Oregon medical license
DEA license with X waiver (buprenorphine prescribing) strongly preferred
Board certified or board eligible in Addiction Medicine, Psychiatry, or related specialty preferred
Experience working with SUD and co-occurring mental health populations
Familiarity with OHA Medicaid/Oregon Health Plan regulations a plus
ASAM certification preferred but not required
Strong communication and leadership skills
Commitment to trauma-informed, person-centered care
