Psychological Services Specialist, DHS - Loysville Youth Development Center
Job description
In this position, you will plan, develop, coordinate, and administer treatment services and programs at LYDC. You will consult with supervisory and counseling staff as a key member of the clinical team, ensuring compliance with department and bureau policies. Your responsibilities include evaluating treatment programs in assigned cottages, addressing any shortcomings, and participating in program development meetings. You will train direct care staff through modeling and presentations. Additionally, you will coordinate mental health services according to established protocols, assist in treatment plan development, and provide individualized clinical services. To foster professional growth, you will engage in training, review literature, and participate in research activities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week
Work hours are 3 shifts on 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and 2 shifts on 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Hours and shifts may change based on operational needs.
Travel and overtime: As needed.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $67,736.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
A master’s degree in a behavioral science, counseling education, rehabilitation, human development or a closely related field.
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Legal Requirements:
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
