Augusta, Maine: We invite a skilled DEVELOPMENTAL/BEHAVIORAL Pediatrician to join a thriving hospital-affiliated pediatrics center in Maine's dynamic capital city. Join a comprehensive pediatric center providing interdisciplinary assessments and therapeutic interventions for a range of childhood difficulties including speech, motor, emotional and behavioral. In addition to developmental studies, the practice assesses the medical and behavioral needs of children entering temporary state protective custody.
You will have a convenient weekday schedule, with no call. In this important and rewarding outpatient role, you will assess and treat children with neuro-developmental disabilities as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team that includes Child Psychologists, Social Workers, Occupational and Physical Therapists and Speech Therapists. You will manage both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic medicines to treat such things as sleep cycle disturbance, enuresis and encopresis, violently aggressive behavior, and impulsivity and inattention. You will work with staff Child Psychiatrists to manage psychopharmacologic medications. You will also support providers specializing in occupational, physical and speech therapy in caring for children with cerebral palsy, hypertonia and hypotonia, balance and coordination disorders, and fine motor difficulties impacting independent feeding and toileting.
