The Sutter County Health and Human Services Department promotes health, safety, economic stability, and quality of life for our community. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will be responsible for facilitating therapeutic groups, providing psychiatric casework, counseling, and treatment services in a clinical or institutional setting.

Mental Health Therapist may be assigned to Children's Services or Adult Services Branch. Mental Health Therapists assigned to Children's Services may work in a youth outpatient clinic setting, or Children's System or Care/Transitional Age Youth program providing therapy and casework services for children/youth and their referred families. Assignments may also include being an embedded therapist at Sutter or Yuba County Child Welfare. Assignments in the Adult Services Branch, include being part of the Adult Urgent Services and a part of an interdisciplinary team that provides screening, assessment, individual therapy, group therapy and other behavioral health services in the Adult Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic. One Clinician III opening will be assigned to provide support to SYBH clients in placement settings, and to provide services for older adults. This position will be a combination of direct service and supervision.
