Call Details: Usually calls are very reasonable, may need to do a late frozen section after 5, blood bank calls are easy to handle, typically for approvals of units, or just informational about MTP initiation...

Work Details
· Support staff: 6 other docs
· Amount of coverage needed per month: Full-time coverage needed
· Patients per day: 20-30 cases of pathology per day. The mix includes some large cases (mastectomy, colectomy, prostatectomy ...), medium cases (breast biopsies, prostate biopsies, G.I. biopsies....) and small cases (gallbladder, appendix, hernia sacs, lipoma....)
· Department description: Level II trauma center
· EMR: Cerner
· Hospital bed size: 222
· Skills required: Clinical responsibilities include general surgical pathology sign out, rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) procedures for specimen adequacy and tissue allocation, non-gyn cytology, clinical pathology, and participation in cancer conferences, tumor boards, hospital and lab committees at our acute care hospitals. The candidate will have the opportunity to practice digital pathology at all practice locations. Participation in on-call coverage across the system hospitals is required, call is for a week at a time, every seven weeks.
