Job description

The senior counselor role serves as a member of a collaborative student wellbeing team dedicated to supporting and promoting student health and wellbeing as a core institutional value. Through a multidisciplinary, comprehensive approach, this position will serve as a licensed mental health professional providing direct mental health services to a diverse community of undergraduate and graduate students. Using a short-term intervention and personalized care model, the senior counselor will be responsible for providing individual and group counseling, screenings, consultations, and crisis intervention services. This position may also assist in training and supervision of master’s level interns. The Health and Well-Being Collective leads campus-wide initiatives to advance the holistic well-being of the S&T community, and this position plays an integral part of our collaborative and multidisciplinary student wellbeing team. Key Responsibilities:

Provides individual, group, and crisis counseling with around 65% direct service commitment
Consults with internal and external stakeholders, and with professional colleagues
Acts as a resource and/or mentor for colleagues
Collaborates with colleagues on campus committees and initiatives
Contributes to gathering data, compiling information, and preparing reports
Develops and delivers educational programs on self-management and mental health
Other duties as assigned
