✨Pulmonary Critical Care ICU APP Opportunity in Omaha, NE
Job description
Location: Omaha, NE
Schedule: 3-4×12-hour shifts per week (Days/Nights – block scheduling available)
Setting: Large Teaching Hospital (Level 1 Trauma Center) + Community Hospital (15 min apart)
Position Highlights
• 12-hour shifts only (no 24s)
• No call required
• Preference for no more than 4 consecutive shifts
• Credentialing: ~4–5 weeks with temp privileges available
• EMR: Epic
Work Environment
Main Campus (Level 1 Trauma / Teaching Hospital):
• MICU with full subspecialty and resident/fellow support
• Robust ancillary staff including RTs, RNs, Radiology, and Pathology
• 2 APPs per shift (day), 1 fellow on-site 24/7, attending coverage 7a–10p
Community Hospital (15 minutes away):
• Stroke-certified ICU with stable-to-moderate acuity
• APPs work with greater autonomy; physician not on-site full day
• Transfers high-acuity patients to main campus
• Support from RTs, RNs, and ancillary staff
Responsibilities
• Manage critically ill medical ICU patients (MICU/SICU/Transplant ICUs)
• Ventilator management: invasive, non-invasive, ECMO (experience required)
• Collaborate closely with physicians, fellows, and multidisciplinary teams
Requirements
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in pulmonary/critical care
• Acute Care certification (ACNP / AGACNP required)
• Compact or Nebraska NP/PA license required
Additional Details
• Patient load: 1:6–8 at main campus; 1:5 max at community hospital
• Credentialing: 4–5 weeks turnaround with temps
