Maryland client needs Board Certified Critical Care or Pulm Docs who have experience in the ICU

ICU opportunity. New unit opening in March

Schedule: shifts are 12-hour shifts from 7am to 7pm; schedules are flexible with the exception of weekend coverage which is required for 2 out 4 weekends, and rotating holiday coverage.

10-12 bed unit with an average census of 6.5 patients. There will be required cross-coverage on the IMC.

No APPs in the ICU yet, but will be working with PA's on the IMC, and eventually night PAs on the ICU.

Procedures: intubation, central line placement. We do have Interventional Radiology to assist with other procedures as needed.

ICU level: Considered a Level 2 ICU. We are a MICU (Medical ICU), although we do have general/vascular surgery patients that sometimes need ICU level care.

Specialties: There isn't a trauma center and we do not have neurosurgery or cardiothoracic surgery. We do have general surgery, vascular surgery, interventional cardiology, pulmonology, GI, ID, nephrology, urology, anesthesiology, interventional radiology, ortho and neurology, and can provide comprehensive critical care for those patients in most situations, and for 24 hours a day. Neurosurgical and Cardiothoracic patients coming to the ED are transferred from the ED to a tertiary facility, or if a cardiothoracic patient is identified after cardiac cath, they would be transferred from the cath lab or could be held in the ICU until able to go, if needed.

Do not have a Cardiac critical care (CCU).

Will pay up to $250 per hour based on experience
