We are the only hospital for the island chain, the Commonwealth Health Center.
Located in the western pacific, a short flight from Guam and 3 hours from Japan, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) is a popular tourist destination rich in history, culture and natural resources., just 5 miles wide by 12 miles long, is the largest and most populated of the 14 islands making up an archipelago that stretches 400 miles (north to south) along the edge of the Marianas Trench. 50,000 population. 75 Bed Hospital. The Hospital has a 86 bed hospital, 4 bed ICU, NICU and a Dialysis Unit for 100 renal failure patients plus state of the art diagnostic facilities. Relocation and living expenses are covered. We have reciprocity with US and Canada. Only occasional trauma as top speed on island is 40 mph. After 4:30, ER is the only show on Saipan. So there are many walk ins. High Peds population, little Geriatric.
As a commonwealth Saipan pays negligible fed taxes. Max 9.5% for our combined local and federal tax so makes take home pay much higher. J1 H1 visa also available.
It is a great opportunity to work with an underserved population while still being on United States soil yet being at Asia's doorstep. The work environment is relaxed and the island itself is a tropical paradise with plenty of opportunities for outdoor fun. The cost of living here is low.
