Contract Length: 1-year base with up to 4 option years | 6-month assignments also available
Schedule: Variable shifts | 24/7 Emergency Department coverage
Compensation: Competitive, negotiable

Opportunity Overview

JR Enterprise, LLC is seeking Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Emergency Medicine Physicians for a Locum Tenens assignment at the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. This opportunity offers flexible scheduling, long-term stability, and the chance to serve Veterans in a high-acuity Emergency Department.

Physicians will provide comprehensive emergency care to adult patients presenting with acute medical and traumatic conditions. The ideal locum provider is confident in independent decision-making, efficient in a fast-paced setting, and committed to high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting to the Emergency Department

Perform rapid assessments and stabilize life-threatening conditions

Order and interpret diagnostic studies (labs, imaging, EKGs)

Manage a wide range of emergent medical and trauma cases

Perform emergency procedures as indicated (airway management, resuscitation, wound care, central lines, etc.)

Coordinate care with specialists, nursing staff, and ancillary services

Ensure timely, accurate documentation in accordance with VA standards

Participate in patient handoffs and multidisciplinary care coordination

Comply with VA safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements

Schedule & Coverage

Emergency Department operates 24/7/365, including federal holidays (CST)

Day, evening, night, weekday, and weekend shifts available

On-site coverage required during scheduled shifts

Shift schedules subject to VA operational needs

Requirements

MD or DO from an accredited medical school

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine

Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory

Recent Emergency Medicine experience in a high-acuity setting

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Strong clinical judgment and communication skills

VA or federal experience preferred but not required
