Responsibilities:
• Perform thorough physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop and implement treatment plans.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, technicians, and specialists, to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Document all patient interactions, medical histories, diagnoses, treatment plans, and outcomes accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record (EMR) system (MediTech).
• Maintain a high level of proficiency and knowledge in emergency medicine by participating in continuing medical education (CME) activities.
• Adhere to all state and facility regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and excellent communication skills when interacting with patients and their families.

Requirements:
• Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA-accredited residency program in Emergency Medicine is required.
• Must have a valid Tennessee medical license at the time of name clearance.
• Board Eligible: ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS .
• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine is preferred but not required.
• Additional certifications such as BTLS (Basic Trauma Life Support) are desirable.
• Demonstrated proficiency in using electronic medical record systems, specifically MediTech.

Facility and Community Overview: You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Our Emergency Department has an annual volume of 20,000 patients and operates with 1-2 patients per hour. We have 8 total hospital beds and provide coverage from 10 am to 10 pm. While we are an FSED (Freestanding Emergency Department), we have the ability to transfer patients to Summit Medical Center Main ED for additional care when needed.
