Job Title: Locum - Physician - Emergency Medicine McAllen, TX 78503.
Department: Emergency Medicine
Reports To: Medical Director of Emergency Medicine
EMR: Meditech

Summary:
The Emergency Room Doctor is responsible for providing medical care to patients in the emergency department. This includes assessing patients, ordering and interpreting tests, diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries, and coordinating patient care with other healthcare providers. The Emergency Room Doctor must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and be able to make quick decisions in critical situations.
Responsibilities:
• Assess patients, including obtaining a history of present illness, performing a physical exam, and ordering and interpreting tests.
• Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries.
• Coordinate patient care with other healthcare providers, such as nurses, pharmacists, and social workers.
• Provide education to patients and their families about their illnesses or injuries.
• Contribute to the quality improvement process in the emergency department.
Qualifications:
• Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of a residency program in emergency medicine.
• Board certification or board eligibility in emergency medicine.
• Current Texas medical license and DEA number.
• Clean malpractice and background checks.
• Ability to work 24-hour shifts.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
