Locum Tenens Primary Care Physician

Job description

We are seeking a Family Medicine Physician for a locum tenens opportunity in California, just south of the Sacremento area. This is a great outpatient assignment with a consistent Monday–Friday schedule and strong support staff.
Assignment Details:

Start Date: May 26, 2026
Duration: 3 months with potential to extend
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (no flexibility)
Patient Volume:

~26 scheduled daily
Average of 18–20 patients seen per day


Setting: Outpatient primary care (FQHC environment)

Clinical Responsibilities:

Bread-and-butter Family Medicine
Preventive care & wellness exams
Chronic disease management
Medication management
Immunizations
Treating patients of all ages

Requirements:

Active California license
Active DEA
Board Certified
Experience in FQHC settings preferred
EPIC EMR experience required

Additional Details:

Credentialing: 2–3 weeks
EMR: EPIC
Coverage: Filling in for a permanent provider
Rate: Negotiable
Expenses Covered: Flight, lodging, and rental car

Important Notes:
5-day work week is required
Overtime must be pre-approved to be compensated
