Job Title: Locum Physician: Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology
Location: Marquette, MI
EMR: McKesson and Athena
Practice Setting: Outpatient, Inpatient
Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours Plus Call
Board Status: Eligible
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert medical consultation, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment to patients with gastrointestinal disorders.
Perform comprehensive medical assessments, including reviewing medical history, physical examinations, and appropriate diagnostic tests.
Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients, including medication management, lifestyle recommendations, and procedural interventions.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, surgeons, radiologists, and other specialists, to ensure holistic patient care.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (EMR) using McKesson and Athena platforms.
Participate in on-call rotation to provide timely medical assistance to patients requiring urgent care outside of regular clinical hours.
Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment options, and preventative measures.
Stay informed about the latest advancements and research in the field of Gastroenterology to enhance patient care and treatment methodologies.
Adhere to ethical and professional standards, following all relevant regulations and guidelines.
Qualifications:
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
Residency training in Internal Medicine.
Fellowship training in Gastroenterology.
Eligibility for board certification in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Michigan.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and colleagues.
Proficiency in utilizing EMR systems, specifically McKesson and Athena.
Dedication to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
Flexibility to work both outpatient and inpatient settings.
