Job description

A healthcare organization is seeking a Locum Tenens Gastroenterologist to provide inpatient-only coverage with 24-hour call. This role includes rounding, inpatient consults, and procedures, with ERCP required. There is no outpatient clinic.

The provider will manage common GI cases such as GI bleeds, abdominal pain, SBO, food bolus, ulcer disease, and gastritis. Expect up to 10 inpatient rounds per day, plus procedures as clinically indicated. Hospitalists handle all admissions.

You will be supported by GI-trained endoscopy nursing staff, with anesthesia backup available. Conscious sedation is preferred when appropriate. The EMR is Paragon, with a planned transition to EPIC later in 2026.

This assignment includes multiple 24-hour call blocks throughout 2026. Clean malpractice history and TX license are required. Emergency credentialing may be possible for qualified providers.

7:00 AM to 7:00 AM (24-hour coverage)
