✅ Position Overview: In-Flight Paramedic
Provide advanced medical care and oversight during prisoner air transport missions for the Justice Prisoner & Alien Transportation System (JPATS) supporting the U.S. Marshals Service. This role requires rapid deployment, extensive travel, and the ability to manage medical care for multiple individuals in secure aviation environments.

✅ Qualifications
✔️ Citizenship: U.S. Citizen, 21 years or older
✔️ Education: High school diploma or equivalent
✔️ Certification: Current NREMT-Paramedic, CPR/AED, and ACLS
✔️ Experience: Minimum 3 years of verified paramedic experience
✔️ License: Valid driver’s license with clean record (past 5 years)
✔️ Must pass U.S. Marshals Service background investigation and suitability requirements
✔️ Ability to meet physical and medical fitness standards for flight operations

✅ Critical Information
✔️ 24/7/365 on-call schedule with 2-hour rapid response requirement
✔️ Must respond to mission changes and deployments at any time, including holidays
✔️ Must maintain confidentiality, federal conduct standards, and strict security compliance
✔️ Work involves prolonged activity in aviation and law enforcement environments
✔️ No weapons permitted under USMS/JPATS policy

✅ Key Responsibilities
✔️ Provide medical care for prisoners and, when necessary, aircrew personnel
✔️ Administer medications and treatments per authorized medical direction
✔️ Conduct pre-flight equipment and medication checks
✔️ Maintain chain-of-custody for medical records, medications, and equipment
✔️ Perform medical screening and determine fitness-to-fly
✔️ Respond to in-flight medical emergencies including cardiac events, seizures, injuries, and mental health crises
✔️ Deliver medical summaries and documentation to receiving officials

✅ Medical Oversight Responsibilities
✔️ Coordinate with aeromedical and medical transport leadership
✔️ Implement medical direction and risk guidance for prisoner transport missions
✔️ Communicate with medical authorities regarding emergent or complex cases
