Job Title: Clinical Research Physician
Job Type: Full Time
Department: Infectious Disease Clinical Research Program
Location: Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, HI
Summary:
The Clinical Research Physician is responsible for the design, direction, and execution of clinical research protocols in conjunction with active-duty investigators, research physicians, and other scientists. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical medicine, infectious diseases, and clinical research.
Responsibilities:
• Design, direct, and participate in clinical research protocols
• Develop and submit clinical research protocols and other documentation to the Institutional Review Board (IRB), local human research protection program, sponsors, monitors, and/or Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
• Provide evaluation and treatment of medical conditions, as appropriate to medical license and specialty board certification
• Maintain active clinical credentials including by providing care to non-research patients
• Provide clinical research education, training, and mentorship to trainees and others
• Assist in securing funding (writing, reviewing, and editing proposals, etc.)
• Monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of the clinical research program

Qualifications:
• Doctoral Degree- MD
• Minimum of 3-5 years experience required
• Licensure to practice medicine within the continental United States; Board certified or board eligible for certification in the specialty associated with the clinical research program.
