Cath Lab Physician Assistant | Full‑Time Locum | 3‑Month Contract

Aya Locums is seeking experienced Physician Assistants to support a high‑volume Cardiac Catheterization Lab. This is a procedural‑focused role with consistent weekday scheduling and optional call participation.
Assignment Overview:

Start Date: As soon as credentialed

Credentialing timeline: approximately 6–8 weeks


Contract Length: 3 months with the option to extend
Total Openings: 3 Physician Assistants

Schedule & Coverage:

Shifts: Monday–Friday
Hours: 7:00am–8:00pm
Shift Length: 12–14 hours
Weekly Schedule: Typically 4 shifts per week (full‑time hours)
No scheduled weekends or holidays

On‑Call Details:

On‑call coverage for weekends and holidays
30‑minute response time required for STEMI call
Typical procedures last 1–2 hours
Participation in call is preferred but not required

Clinical Responsibilities:

First assist with cardiac catheterization procedures at the bedside
Provide procedural support within the Cath Lab
Assist with pre‑procedure and recovery patient care
Perform patient assessments and support clinical decision‑making
Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, and Cath Lab team to maintain efficient workflow

Volume & Workflow:

Lab volume: Approximately 15–20 cases per day
Providers manage 6–10 cases per 10–12 hour shift
Two providers staffed per day

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
Active, unrestricted New York state license (required)
DEA not required
Prior Cath Lab or cardiology experience preferred
Ability to function effectively in a fast‑paced, procedural, acute‑care setting

Open to travel candidates
Airfare, lodging, and car rental provided
