Job Title: Nurse Practitioner - Medical Oncology
Location: Lacey, WA 98503
Practice Setting: Outpatient
Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours Only

Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments of patients' medical history, symptoms, and current condition to develop appropriate treatment plans.
Collaborate with physicians, oncologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of oncology-related conditions.
Perform physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications or treatments as necessary.
Administer chemotherapy and other cancer treatments as required, adhering to established protocols and ensuring patient safety.
Document all patient encounters, assessments, and interventions accurately and thoroughly in the Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families, addressing their concerns and helping them cope with the challenges of cancer treatment.
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in oncology research, treatments, and supportive care, and incorporate evidence-based practices into patient care.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, tumor boards, and other collaborative activities to discuss patient cases, treatment plans, and outcomes.
Qualifications:
Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in Medical Oncology (ANCC, AOCNP, or equivalent).
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in oncology or hematology.
Strong knowledge of cancer pathophysiology, treatment modalities, and supportive care interventions.
Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, specifically Epic.
