New Opportunity Located in Northern CA with Aya Locums: Neurosurgery NP

Job description

Aya Locums is seeking an experienced Neurosurgery NP to provide full-time outpatient neuro-spine surgery clinic coverage in Northern California. This assignment offers a stable 4–6 month contract with no OR time, weekends, or holidays.

Assignment Details
-Start Date: As soon as credentialed
-Contract Length: 4–6 months
-Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours Only
-Shift Details: M–F, 8a–5p
-Schedule: Full time, no weekends, no holidays

Work Details
-Patient Population: Adults only
-Average Census: 20–22 patients/day (up to 26 with telehealth)
-Department: Neuro-spine surgery, strictly outpatient (no OR or inpatient)

Support Staff:
-Team of 7 APPs supporting 5 surgeons & 2 physiatrists
-APPs manage clinical work: exams, imaging orders, triaging calls, follow-ups, post-ops, wound care, staple/drain removal
-EMR: Epic
-Procedures: Outpatient wound care (staple/drain removal), basic post-op care. If experienced, APPs may perform trigger point, hip, or knee injections (not required).

Skills Required
Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in one of the following:
-Ortho spine surgery
-Neuro spine surgery
-Pain management with spine focus

Practice Setting
-Outpatient clinic
-Hospital-based setting

Requirements
-Various NP certifications accepted
-State License: Active CA license required
-DEA: Required
-Certifications: BLS required
