New Opportunity Located in Western CA with Aya Locums: Neurosurgery NP

Job description

Aya Locums is seeking a Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner to provide full-time coverage in Western California. This role offers a balance of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, supporting a growing neurosurgery service line in collaboration with an experienced surgical team.

Assignment Details
• Schedule: 5x8-hour shifts
• Coverage: Full time, 4 weeks per month
• Setting: Approximately 70% outpatient and 30% inpatient
• EMR: Epic

Work Details
• Support Staff: Outpatient – surgery scheduler, MA, scribe; inpatient – work directly with surgeon
• Patient Volume: 15–20 clinic patients per day; 5–7 surgeries per week
• Patient Population: Adults
• Department: Comprehensive neurosurgery care including pre-, intra-, and post-operative management
• Procedures: Drain removal, basic wound dressing, suture/staple removal

Skills Required:
• Preferred experience in complex/high-acuity surgical or procedural settings
• Strongly prefer 3–5 years in neurosurgery; minimum 1 year required
• Willing to consider experience from other surgical service lines

Requirements
• Board Certification:
• NPs: ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, or ACNPC
• DEA: Required
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS
