This premier medical center serves as a major Level One Trauma Center with ACS verification, providing comprehensive emergency and specialty care to the greater Lansing community. The facility maintains a high-volume emergency department with over 90,000 annual visits and features state-of-the-art trauma capabilities with dedicated support staff and modern surgical facilities.

Physician - Surgery - Hand
Job Details:
• Provide 24-hour trauma call coverage approximately 10 days per month at ACS Verified Level One Trauma Center
• Board certification in Orthopedic, Plastic, or General Surgery with completed Hand Surgery Fellowship required
• Coverage dates: ASAP through December 2026
• Shift schedule: 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM coverage periods
• Serve patient demographics ages 15 years and older (adolescent through geriatric)
• Average surgical case volume: 1 case per month, increasing to approximately 3 cases during summer months
• Annual facility volume includes approximately 50 hand cases per year
• Perform hand-related procedures and traumatic hand reconstruction
• Conduct general plastic surgery procedures including facial laceration repair, scar revisions, skin grafts, flaps, and minor burn care
• In-person response required when procedures are necessary
• Participate in Trauma Clinic support: Tuesdays 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM in SPB Suite 600
• Handle patient consultations, procedures, and follow-up visits as scheduled
• Active Michigan medical license required (full MI license, no compact or IMLC accepted)
• BLS and ACLS certifications highly preferred
• Credentialing timeframe: 120+ days
• Travel expenses reimbursed including flight, hotel, and mileage or car rental
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
