✅ Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Consultative Medical Examiner (CME) with expertise in Developmental Therapy and Speech-Language Pathology to support the Division of Disability Determination Services (DDDS) in Washington State. In this role, you will serve as an expert medical consultant for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) cases. You will evaluate speech, language, and developmental impairments and provide authoritative recommendations that shape disability eligibility decisions.

✅ Key Responsibilities
✔️ Review and interpret speech-language pathology and developmental therapy records for disability claims
✔️ Assess the severity and functional impact of communication and developmental disorders
✔️ Provide detailed written and verbal consultations to DDDS adjudicators
✔️ Collaborate with other medical and psychological consultants on eligibility determinations
✔️ Ensure all recommendations comply with SSA guidelines and documentation standards
✔️ Maintain accurate, timely reporting in line with federal protocols
✔️ Respond promptly to case inquiries during business hours

✅ Qualifications
✔️ Master’s degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution
✔️ Current, unrestricted Speech-Language Pathology license (Washington State preferred; others accepted per DDDS RFQ)
✔️ Licensed to conduct business in Washington State
✔️ Minimum 5 years of experience with disability determination or medical consultation (DDDS or equivalent)
✔️ At least 2 years of post-graduate experience in developmental therapy or SLP practice
✔️ Skilled in reviewing complex medical records and using digital case management tools
✔️ Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication abilities
✔️ Must not be excluded from participation in Medicare, Medicaid, or any federal healthcare program
