Pediatric Surgeon Locum needed in Central Virginia.

• Open Dates: April 26 (8a) - April 29 (8a)

1. Most after-hours calls are from the Pediatric Emergency Department.
2. Ages of patience: Newborns to teenagers.
3. Duties include collaborating with other pediatric providers to diagnosis and determine if surgery is necessary.
4. Managing and performing preoperative, operative, and postoperative care.
5. 24-hour surgeons will have office support staff
• Triage incoming call support
• Including RX refills
6. Full time coverage for clinic M-F(8a-5p), night call coverage M-F (8p-8a), and weekend call coverage Sat-Sun (24 hr.)
7. Rounding for patient the locum provider has admitted and weekend surgical consults as needed.
8. Primarily consults from the ED approx. 0-2 calls per day.
9. This Hospital sees approx. 8-10 per year emergency surgeries per year – not a trauma hospital.
10. 15min max call back time for emergency consult.
11. 30min max response time
12. 0-4 patients per day per provider

REQUIREMENTS:
• Board Certified Pediatric Surgeon
• VA State License & DEA
• COVID Vaccination
• Flu Vaccine

COMPENSATION:
• Competitive Market Rate (rate based on availability, experience, certifications, housing, and transportation needs, etc.)
• Malpractice insurance provided.
