Seeking Crisis Care Attendant in KS

Job description

Our Mental Health Center is seeking a Crisis Attendant Care Transport to provide community resource to individuals in psychiatric crisis, regardless of the hour. This position helps community members find and utilize caregivers, resources, caregiving facilities, and more to improve their quality of life and, especially, to help guide them towards the least restrictive psychiatric placement.

Responsibilities:
Provide crisis intervention services and make emergency contacts to assist with stabilization using the Strengths approach
Transport individuals to local crisis stabilization units or psychiatric facilities
Educate organizations by making referrals for screenings and assess needs and make recommendations for community resources necessary for diversions.
Service requests must be responded to by phone in 15 minutes and physically within 2 hours
Accurate and timely documentation

Skills:
Knowledge of normal/abnormal human behavior and development
Must be able to relate to emotionally disturbed children and mentally ill adults
Ability to remain calm and function in crisis situations
Strong written and verbal communication skills, possess mature and sound judgement, and work well independently and as part of a team
Must seek consultation with supervisor when warranted

Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a behavioral health field such as clinical psychology, social work, counseling, nursing, rehabilitation, or other closely related degree is preferred
Valid driver’s license
Meet the CMHC/CCBHC licensing standards and pass background checks and vehicle screens
