Psychiatrist needed U.S. Pacific Island

Salary 218k with our tax breaks is 330k on mainland. Psychiatry position at Commonwealth Healthcare, an 86-bed Medicare- certified hospital on the island of Saipan in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Licensing and credentialing takes 6-8 weeks International flight, rental car, and housing costs covered for locums and first month for permanent position. Malpractice coverage is provided under the Tort Claims act. ACLS/BLS required. Average of 4-8 inpatients and 3-4 clinic days. Some oversight of counselling center. We are a remote island, and the only hospital and ICU. Our patients have no other facility in general to divert to, no medivac service to a larger hospital. We are it. Our acuity runs from minor to severe, most patients have multiple medical issues compounded by financial and social restraints. Clinic visits are schedules as half hour or one hour visits to provide time to address Psychiatric issues in depth. Providers will be required to care for adult and childhood psychiatric diseases and will have available the assistance of UpToDate and experience of local team members. However, except as noted below, subspecialty referral is NOT available and the successful provider will need to develop comfort in providing care in a resource limited environment. Not withstanding, the expected standard of care is that of a specialty clinic anywhere else in the US. EHR is RPMS (same as Vist at VA hospitals) 8 hrs/day, 5 days a week. We are without psychiatric help but have one coming this fall and hope to recruit one more to alternate night call.
