Psychiatrist needed in Upstate New York!

Job description

Position: Psychiatrist – Inpatient Forensic Unit
Coverage: Adult patients only
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week (Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM)

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years post-training professional experience

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry

Position Overview:
The selected candidate will provide residential inpatient psychiatric treatment to approximately 50 adult patients who are civilly confined pursuant to Article 10. Patients range in age from the mid-20s to late 60s and present with a broad spectrum of psychiatric conditions.

Clinical Population Includes:

Depressive disorders

Anxiety disorders

Adjustment disorders

Bipolar disorder

Psychotic disorders

Hypersexuality (in a subset of residents)

Additional Expectations:

Experience treating hypersexuality is preferred; however, candidates who are open to learning and receiving training and supervision from colleagues and/or the Chief of Psychiatry are strongly encouraged to apply.
