Pediatric Pulmonology Locum Opportunity – Illinois. Willing to license!
Job description
We are seeking a Board-Certified Pediatric Pulmonologist for a 6-month locum assignment at a leading children’s hospital in Illinois. This is a full-time opportunity, offering a well-balanced mix of inpatient consults and outpatient clinic work, with minimal call responsibilities and a collaborative interview process.
Position Details:
Start Date: ASAP (upon credentialing – approx. 90–115 days from accepted offer)
Contract Length: 6 months
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Shifts: Five 8-hour day shifts
Coverage: Full-time, 4 weeks per month
Call: Required for weeknights and weekends; physical callback is extremely rare (0–4 times per year), no phone triage
Clinical Breakdown:
Approx. 30 hours/week inpatient (consults, post-PICU)
Approx. 10 hours/week outpatient clinic
Outpatient volume: 8–10 patients/day
Inpatient volume: 1–4 consults/day
Hospital Bed Size: 671
EMR: Epic
Requirements:
Board Certified in Pediatric Pulmonology (ABP)
Minimum 2 years’ experience required
Active IL or IMLC license (willing to license IMLC candidates)
DEA and CSR required
Certifications: BLS and PALS
Interview Process:
Virtual interview with Chair and Vice Chair
In-person interviews with department leadership for non-local providers (travel arranged)
