Job description

Aya Locums is seeking an experienced Surgical ICU Physician Assistant for an ongoing night-shift assignment in southern California. This role is ideal for a PA comfortable managing surgical ICU patients within an academic hospital setting.

Assignment Details
• Start Date: ASAP
• Contract Length: 6+ months
• Shift Details: 12-hour nights, 7p–7a
• Schedule: 3 shifts/week; sporadic shift coverage also accepted

Work Details
• Support Staff: 2 APPs at night; attending physicians available for backup
• Monthly Coverage Needed: 15–20 shifts
• Patients per Day: 12–15
• Patient Population: Adults
• Department Description: Surgical ICU + consults; lower acuity to start; triage responsibilities; surgical coverage for all services except Neurosurgery
• Exclusions: No trauma, burn, cardiac surgery, or transplant
• Consults may include: ENT, Neuro, OB/GYN, Plastics
• EMR: Epic

Practice Setting
• Academic Hospital

Requirements
• Board Certification: Required
• State License: Active CA license
• Certifications: ATLS
• Minimum Experience: 2–3 years
