Express Care NP or PA – Locum Tenens – Hancock, MI Area

Job description

A well-established health system in the Hancock, Michigan area — located in the beautiful Upper Peninsula — is seeking an Express Care NP or PA for locum tenens coverage. This is a sole provider role in an outpatient express care clinic with dedicated support staff including a Medical Assistant and receptionist.

Coverage is needed for multiple week-long blocks from April through June 2026, with potential for ongoing need due to a position vacancy. The clinic operates 7 days a week, seeing an average of 14–28 patients per day. Two clinic locations in the Houghton/Calumet area will rotate on a weekly basis. Onsite orientation is required prior to the first block of shifts.

Requirements: Must be US board certified NP or PA with active MI license, MI Controlled Substance license, and MI DEA. Active BLS certification required. Must demonstrate clinical experience within the last 12 months or completion of an accredited NP or PA program within the last 12 months. EMR system is Athena. Credentialing takes approximately 30 days. Temporary privileges may be granted as needed. Facility housing is preferred if available.
