Urgent Care NP/PA – Locum Tenens – Rockingham, NC

Job description

An urgent care center in Rockingham, NC is seeking an experienced NP or PA for a locum tenens assignment. The provider will serve as the sole provider in the center, treating both adult and pediatric patients (ages 6 months and up) in a high-volume environment averaging 40 patients per day.

The role involves standard urgent care complaints as well as minor procedures including I&D, laceration repair, and ear irrigation. The facility uses EPIC EMR, and providers must demonstrate proficiency with the system. A modified EMR training schedule and mandatory onboarding are required before the first solo shift – training occurs on set Wednesdays.

Requirements include a minimum of 12 months of urgent care experience, board certification (NCCPA or NP boards), BLS certification, and NC DEA. New graduates are not eligible. A clinical screening interview is part of the process. Support staff includes a center manager, medical assistant, PSA, and an offsite supervising physician for APPs.

Travel reimbursement is limited to mileage only (no lodging). Candidates should be available for support within a 60-mile radius of Rockingham. This is a great opportunity for an experienced urgent care provider looking for steady locum work in a well-supported environment.
