NP Urgent Care – Locum Tenens – Wilmington, NC Area

Job description

A multi-site urgent care group in the Wilmington, NC area is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for locum tenens urgent care coverage. Local candidates only — travel is limited to 60 miles round trip (30 miles each way) with mileage reimbursement only.

Schedule: Full-time hours required, including summer coverage. Consistent shift schedule once credentialed.

Work Details: Urgent care covering adults and pediatrics 6 months and up. Up to 60 patients per day (typical site averages 40). Common procedures include I&D, lac repair, and ear irrigation. EMR: Epic, with a modified training schedule. Sole provider in the center with onsite center manager, MA, and PSA. Offsite supervising physician provided for APPs.

Requirements: Board certification (Family NP Cert), BLS, and NC DEA. Minimum 12 months of experience required (no new grads). Must have at least 6 months of experience treating adults and pediatrics. EPIC proficiency required.

Process: Clinical screening required prior to credentialing. Onboarding and EMR training occur on set Wednesdays prior to first solo shift.
