NP/PA Urgent Care - Locum Tenens - Lumberton, NC Area

Job description

A well-established urgent care network in the Lumberton, NC area is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for ongoing locum tenens coverage. This opportunity is open to local candidates only — mileage will be reimbursed up to 60 miles round trip (30 miles each way). Provider must be able to commit to full-time hours and consistent coverage needs.

The role involves serving as the sole provider in the urgent care center, treating both adult and pediatric patients (6 months and up) at high volume. Average daily patient load is approximately 40 PPD, with capacity up to 60 PPD depending on site. Procedures include I&D, laceration repair, ear irrigation, and other minor procedures. Support staff includes a Center Manager, MA, and PSA. A supervising physician is provided offsite for APPs.

Requirements: Board Certification (NCCPA for PAs or Family NP Cert for NPs), BLS, NC DEA, and at least 12 months of experience treating adults and pediatrics. Proficiency with Epic EMR is required (modified training schedule available). No on-call requirements. No new grads. Interview process includes a clinical screening followed by EMR training and onboarding prior to first solo shift.
